Brigantia Archaeological Practice

Current planning procedures often require the developer to undertake archaeological work before or during development. We will undertake the 'desk-top' surveys which are sometimes needed, rapidly and efficiently. We also have extensive experience of all types of archaeological excavation, from small-scale trenching and minor evaluations to large and complex research excavation. Where clients are required to provide evidence of the archaeological potential of a site before consideration of a planning application, or where archaeological excavation is needed to discharge a planning condition, we aim to work closely with developers and contractors in order to carry out the work promptly and to the high standards required by local planning authorities. We will also, if required, act as independent managers and monitors of archaeological excavations and other projects.
